Insights Into The Misunderstood MLM Business Model
A Brief Overview of Network Marketing: Bonus: Online Resources Before You Get Started (Money-Business-Investment Book 1)
What This Book is About:
In my opinion this book is one every person who is thinking about joining an MLM company should read. Taking the advice of the author will save many people a lot of time, money and disappointments.
So many of the MLM companies and Network Marketing companies use the tactic of “urgency” and it seems that all common sense goes out the window, myself included, years ago.
Kathy takes you from her early years of working with MLMs and Networking even before the internet was a fleeting thought. Things were so much different and I don’t think people expected “instant results” like they do now.
As with any new business it is suggested to do your homework and find out about the company; how long they’ve been in business, who owns the business, what is the infrastructure of the company, what is the Terms of Service and compensation plan, when and how you’ll get paid and if it’s a product that you are willing to put your heart and soul into the promotion of the products.
What I Like About This Book:
What I liked most about this book was the “non-hyped” way that Kathy goes through each step that you should look for before you make the decision to join and not let the urgency factor make the decision for you. Use the products yourself and have first-hand knowledge of the products you will be representing.
Another great suggestion given in the book is to check with the DSA about the company. I’ve never heard of DSA before which is The Direct Selling Association. If it is a legitimate company, more than likely they will be listed in the DSA and while you’re there, another company may catch your eye that you aren’t aware of. Leave all of your options open in order the make the best decision for “You.”
Kathy talks about the initial investment, the products, the leadership and culture of the business, and compensation and training.
The author also talks about the social media hype, the myths and the lies and what to look out for.
What is My Final Recommendation?
Kathy concludes her book with some final thoughts and recommendations of people and companies that she feels are worth checking out if you are considering MLM or a Network Marketing Business, along with some book recommendations to read before making your final decision.
There are no affiliate links in the book, except for a way to find the author on her Facebook profile and a link to her Facebook Author Page to check out her other books on Amazon.
I will be giving this book 5 stars because it both explains the good and the bad of MLMs and Network Marketing. There is no favoritism, or name-calling of any program and no opinions of what works and what doesn’t. In fact, there is no mention of any company until the Author shares her choices at the end.
Every person is different and will have different results with any company they choose. The author is merely advising you to take everything into consideration before you jump into something.
Be sure to check out Kathy Henn’s other books as I review them and also on Amazon
