Its My Turn – BG Jenkins
Here is my take this week and it’s not one of the writing prompts. Honestly it came from thinking of you and Cathy, as well as some of my prayer sisters who help me through…and how all of you have. Thank you. Your post was so touching that I thought about not putting this in here and waiting longer. BG Jenkins
It’s My Turn
A health issue, troubles to burn,
An ax to grind, or things to learn…
Just be there.
Sometimes your friend will talk it through,
Sometimes, they need a word or two.
Sometimes, you’ll look for other clues…
And when you speak, speak words of love,
Sometimes, they’ve borne more than enough.
Sometimes, the things in life are tough…
And if the tears, or outbursts come
Just give a hug, and guard your tongue.
We’ve all had days to come undone…
You’ll never know when your turn’s near
For wanting hope, for dousing fears,
Or needed prayers for God to hear…
These friends of ours are precious gems,
Through loss and gain, through thick and thin;
Our God appointed loving friends…
We’re grateful for these kindred ones
Who’ll walk with us for years to come…
It’s my turn now, as you can see,
To offer hope, serenity;
I pray I do it graciously…
Like you have.
