Weekly Writing Prompt 7-4-2017

weeklywritingpromptToday is July 4, 2017 which is Independence Day in the United States.  Per Wikipedia, Independence Day is also referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth.  It is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence 241 years ago on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and were no longer part of the British Empire. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Day_(United_States)

It’s also Tuesday here on my blog and time for another Weekly Writing Prompt.  I don’t know about you but I’m really getting back into the swing of writing again with these prompts.  BG Jenkins joins me in writing every week.  I hope we will have some new people to join us in writing very soon.

  1.  You find a treasure map in an old locked box in your grandparents attic.
  2.  You see, the slice of cake was sitting there…
  3.  Write a story or poem about a broken promise.

  1. This is awesome Monna,

I’m blog hopping but all I want to do now is write about the old locked box in the attic. Gosh my first thought is that I’ll find Grandma’s old love letters from a previous relationship than Grandpa. She was spunky and a woman ahead of the times. OMG I want to write all about my grandmother now.

Thanks and I like the point of writing the first thought that comes to mind. When that happens things start flowing.

    • Hi Donna, That’s the one that caught my eye too. I hope you do expand on your story some. It sounds interesting about finding Grandma’s old love letters. I’d love to read what you come up with. 🙂

  2. Hi Monna,
