I wrote this piece and shared it on my Facebook page but it didn’t get very many views. Facebook changes things so often, it’s hard to tell where it ended up. So I thought I would share this with you here “Why I Love Roses – What About You?”
I’ve always loved roses but they mean more to me now than ever before.
You see, almost from the beginning of when we met, on up until a while before my husband died, he bought roses for me all of the time, especially on holidays but those special ones he bought were “Just Because.”
A while before he passed away, he made me promise I would buy myself roses at least once a month since he would not be there to get them for me.
I promised him that I would but as things turned out financially, I wasn’t able to keep that promise I’d made to him.
I was able to keep his rose bushes going for about 2 years after he died. (these were in addition to the ones be bought for me). I don’t have a green thumb, so I took those 2 years as a sign that he was helping me keep them alive.
After they were gone; no more roses. Then one day I came across pictures of roses, beautiful roses online and I created the Facebook page “All About Roses – Everything.”
It looks like I started this page back in August of 2014. He had been gone 6 years and everyday from that day on, I’ve given myself roses and shared roses with all of my online friends.
I vowed the day I started the page, there would never be any other kind
of flower posted on this fan page except for roses.
I think there may have been a few slip-ups now and then but for the majority of this time they have all been about roses I’ve shared or those that people have shared with me.
The people who I share my roses with and the ones who share their roses with me are growing each day and I thank each and every one of you.
It took me a while but I did keep my promise to my husband. I send myself roses everyday and share them with as many people as I can.
I just thought maybe you might be interested in my “Why” for my “All About Roses – Everything.” Facebook page.
